They reflect your ability to understand and synthesize conceptual material as well as shows effort and persistence towards your academic goals. When applying abroad, especially in the United States, it\u2019s important to understand how your scores align with the expected <strong data-start=\"453\" data-end=\"480\">GPA for US universities<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">When you apply for a Master\u2019s degree, universities don\u2019t need to see your high school grades. They will only ask for your official undergraduate academic transcripts. These transcripts must be submitted directly from your undergraduate institution to the universities that you\u2019re applying to. <strong>Bear in mind, that universities don\u2019t consider transcript submissions directly coming from students as \u201cofficial.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">You also need to make sure that transcripts of all semesters are submitted. If you\u2019re still in the last semester of your undergraduate degree, then you must request your school to submit all transcripts up until the second last semester. However, universities will ask for the submission of your final transcripts once they admit you. It\u2019s also important to note that universities may reconsider your admission if your final semester\u2019s grades are low. You should <strong>maintain good grades in all your years of your undergraduate degree<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Now you might be wondering what good grades are. Well, good grades are usually an 8.0 cumulative GPA or a 3.5 if calculating on the scale of 4 or 80% if you\u2019re calculating the percentage. If you don\u2019t have good grades, don\u2019t panic. Universities in the US look at applications holistically. If you don\u2019t have a good CGPA but your individual grades show a rising graph, that is they\u2019ve improved each semester, then you don\u2019t need to worry much. Universities really want to see dedication and improvement in students.
